The Wound Where Light Enters

The Wound Where Light Enters invites audiences into a deeply reflective experience, reimagining Rumi’s timeless poetry through a contemporary artistic lens, weaving sound, image, and spoken text into a moving meditation on displacement, grief, resilience, and renewal.
The performance features members of the Silkroad Ensemble Kevork Mourad (live drawing and video) and Shane Shanahan (drums), and Farzad Amoozegar (setar), Xheni Rroji (piano), Rubin Kodheli (cello), Peter Romano (actor), and Deniz Khateri (multidisciplinary artist).
Together, these artists bring a rich range of backgrounds to a performance that crosses disciplines, traditions, and geographies. Blending live music, visual storytelling, and text,
The Wound Where Light Enters offers a powerful reflection on how art can help us endure rupture and the possibility of belonging.
