Event of the Year
At the end of each school year, Celebration Team dancers perform in NDI’s Event of the Year, our annual large-scale culminating production. These public performances, inspired by the annual curricular theme, feature original choreography, custom-made costumes, sets, and lighting, and are attended by thousands of audience members over a weekend in June 2022. After a two-year hiatus, this professionally-produced show returns to the stage featuring over 50 extraordinary dancers for three exhilarating performances exhibiting all that the children have learned.
This year's theme "A Beautiful Mosaic," mirrors the theme National Dance Institute is exploring in public schools across New York City this year. We honor all the individuals, singular and extraordinary, who make up the NDI community, and we marvel at how our unique pieces fit together. We celebrate art as the glue, mortar, and grout in the seams that connect and unite us. We are many. We are one. We are a beautiful mosaic.
All performances will have ASL interpretation.
