The Paper Bag Players BIG BAG OF LAUGHS

The Paper Bag Players BIG BAG OF LAUGHS
A New, Funny Show for Families

BIG BAG OF LAUGHS is the latest hilarious show from The Paper Bag Players, America’s longest-running theater for children. Bursting with new work and sprinkled with classic sketches sure to entertain and delight, the family-friendly hour features hilarious stories, freewheeling dances, lovable characters, whimsical music, audience participation, and our signature paper and cardboard sets and costumes. We reach deep in our BIG BAG OF LAUGHS to offer children ages 3-8, and children of all ages, something to make them laugh, sing, and laugh some more!

With dancing houses, singing garbage cans, trees that run, and a tug-of-war between a chicken and an apple, BIG BAG OF LAUGHS positively overflows with zany fun, lyrical movement, and paper & cardboard props and sets from the world of children’s playtime. In the classic number, “Tree Angel,” trees, with a little help from the audience and their very own angel, discover how to outsmart a woodchopper. In “That’s Quite Absurd!” a girl and a bird meet on a park bench and become fast friends. Classic sketches include “Dandelion,” a whimsical song about the cycles of nature, and “Knock, Knock, Knock” a rousing dance for slender cardboard houses where neighbors tell each other the silliest jokes. These and many more surprises lie in wait in the uproarious and fantastical world of THE PAPER BAG PLAYERS BIG BAG OF LAUGHS.

New material for THE PAPER BAG PLAYERS: BIG BAG OF LAUGHS was created by Kevin Richard Woodall and musical director John Stone, with classic sketches drawing from material created by founding artistic director Judith Martin and musical director Donald Ashwander. Directed by Kevin Richard Woodall. Scenic Artist: Florencia Escudero and Emiri Fujimoto. Production Supervisor: James Huggans.
